The Archbishops have issued the the following instruction to all Parish Priests, "our church buildings must be closed not only for public worship, but for private prayer as well and this includes the priest or lay person offering prayer in church on their own".
Our church building maybe be closed but THE CHURCH AS THE PEOPLE OF GOD IS ALIVE AND WELL.
You can come to Mass by visiting our Facebook page or by going to the website. The Mass is in News and Events section of the website and then go to the Newsletter drop down page.
Gareth has set us a challenge: I lit my candle in my window last Sunday and intend doing so each evening at 8pm until Covid-19 has been eradicated. Who's with me? I am, Gareth!
Please feel free to share the Newsletter with neighbours, friends and family.
In order to keep in touch with one another and provide pastoral care I have asked certain members of the congregation to be in touch with you on a weekly basis. They should have rung or contacted you on more than one occasion by now.
As Christians we are called to love our neighbour so let us take every opportunity to care for our neighbour and to pray for them many of whom may well be feeling anxious and alone. Always remembering to keep safe and heed Governent Guidance.
And one more thing ...
Prayer for those in isolation
God of compassion,
Be close to those who are ill,
afraid or in isolation,
In their loneliness, be their consolation;
In their anxiety be their hope;
In their darkness, be their light:
Through him who suffered alone
on the cross,
but reigns with you in glory,
Jesus Christ our Lord.
